We do have a niche situation.

We do art classes and paint & sip events.

Over the summer we offered an unlimited class for a monthly fee. Each month we would email out an updated code to use to enter into any class for free.

Our ticketing right now is handled through Event Espresso due to the many features they offer that we need.

Would like to sell the the recurring on square and then email current monthly users access to a new code each month to register for events in event espresso at no charge. Using the updating of the codes to keep users from scamming the system.

Is it possible to set up recurring payments for people and only email the active list of current paid subscribers monthly with a new redemption code?

Hello @websuited! First of all, I'm afraid it's not possible for a customer to redeem a coupon when paying a Square Invoice! (Recurring payments are currently only available with Square Invoices and Card on File). That's a feature request we're tracking in this thread.

However, it is possible for you to add a discount to a recurring invoice before you send it. Would that work for your business? If not, can you share a bit more about why you'd like to customers to be able to redeem a discount/coupon for a recurring payment? Maybe I've misunderstood your question!

(Oh and last but not least yes you can email select groups of customers with Square Marketing - but as mentioned above this wouldn't be suitable to share promotions for customers paying by invoice.)

Thanks for taking the time to share those details, @websuited. I'll be sure to surface your business needs with our Customer Engagement folks and point out an area for improvement. In the meantime, we don't currently offer an automated way to group customers as you've described (e.g. a Smart Group category), though you can target a specific audience by managing a Manual Group (keeping in mind the invoice exception that Helen mentioned above): Manage Customer Groups and Filters.

Please keep in touch and let us know if anything else comes up!
