&lt;P&gt;If the customer is giving their information to you, you can save it as a &lt;A href="https://squareup.com/help/us/en/article/5770-use-card-on-file-with-the-square-point-of-sale-app" target="_blank"&gt;Card on File&lt;/A&gt; in the Customer Directory, and tell them your policy is to require a card on file so that you have authorization to hold that card.&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

&lt;P&gt;I would make sure you have outlined that in your contract and use the authorization form that is downloadable from your Point of Sale when you save a Card On File to save yourself any trouble with a dispute being filed on an extra charge. Clear documentation is always key.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hello, starting up a moving business, and have an issue. With some moves, the customer is dishonest about the amount of furniture they have so the move ends up taking longer, which would raise the cost above the original estimate. To be prepared for this, I want to be able to save a customer card on file without asking for their authorization, to prevent against a customer refusing to pay for the extra hours worked on their move. Is there an option within Square to save customer cards without their authorization?&lt;/P&gt;</description>
