&lt;P&gt;Square doesn't have a test transaction option at this point. What I do to make sure things are working is to use one of my business cards and run a $1.00 transaction. I then go into the Transactions section of the app and refund the amount.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;As for swipe chip cards, yes you can set up your point of sale to allow swipes. There should be an option in your Settings section of the app you can enable to allow swipes. Be aware though that any fraudulent transactions you have while swiping a chipped card are on your shoulders. Banks/Square won't accept liability. &lt;A href="https://squareup.com/us/en/emv-liability-shift" target="_blank" rel="noopener"&gt;More info on the liability shift&lt;/A&gt;.&lt;/P&gt;

Just to clarify, yes if you swipe a chip&amp;nbsp;card (not all cards have chips yet) with the small magstripe reader with your iPhone&amp;nbsp;you should be aware of the EMV liability shift that &lt;a href="https://community.squareup.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/145"&gt;@ryanwanner&lt;/a&gt; mentioned. If you decide to keep using Square you might want to buy a &lt;A href="https://https://squareup.com/shop/hardware/us/en/products/chip-credit-card-reader-with-nfc" target="_blank"&gt;Contactless and Chip card reader&lt;/A&gt;&amp;nbsp;in future.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
