&lt;P&gt;Just so I understand this fully, are these in-store sales/specials? If so, you should be able to create a&amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="https://squareup.com/dashboard/items/discounts" target="_blank"&gt;discount&lt;/A&gt;&amp;nbsp;and then only apply it to the items that have a special. This would keep you from having to work with the categories. Let me know so I can get back to you with the best work around.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;

      <title>Creating Daily Specials. Copy rather than move</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I want to Copy regular items into the daily specials for special pricing. The assign function&amp;nbsp; allows me to only MOVE them into the specials category. That means I have to move them back to the regular category after the special is over. I create new specials every day, and they vary day to day week to week. Moving them back back and forth can be time consuming. I would rather copy them into the special, then delete them from the specials category when that special is over. I can then copy new items into that special.&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Anyone know a work around?&lt;/P&gt;</description>
