After I received a payment through a deposit request, final payment cannot be made via credit card at the point-of-sale to close out the invoice how do I create a payment through via credit card on the point of sale through an existing invoice

You can't.

For some reason, they decided to use a link to pay the balance. So, what I do is take the balance in person on the POS. I created a 'balance due' item that doesn't have tax added (since already added on the invoice). I ring it up as if it were a separate sale and then go back to the PC dashboard and mark the invoice 'paid by Square'. This is important so it doesn't double the amount on your sales.

It's a workaround, so not ideal but it works.
