Help with two businesses

I have a dog grooming salon. My friend is going to set up a retail shop in the front. We would like to use just one check out for both her customers and mine.

Please share tips on sharing a square acct.

We are especially wondering about:

tips - can we assign them to grooming services only and not retail items on the same ticket?

taxes - if I pay all the taxes, will it look like she’s cheating because her business will be profiting and it won’t show her paying sales tax

Any other tips and tricks?

HI, best advice for Square business? Have separate accounts. It *seems* like it would be easier but in the long run of business, it is the hardest way. Business is already hard enough without having personal feelings involved. Yes, personal feelings can wreck a business, a friendship and a life. Start fresh, start separate.
