Change the wording on a donation item

We have a produce stand that operates on an honor system. I'd like to give people the option to enter a custom amount and pay by credit card, but can't figure out how to add this to our online store. A donation item seems like the best option, but it is awkward to call it a donation when it is really a purchase. I'd like to be able to have only the custom amount field (no suggested donation amounts) and to change the text above the button and on the button itself. I also tried using a variable-price item, but that doesn't seem to be allowed in the online store. Any suggestions for how to make this work?

The only option that allows your customer to add a custom amount is the donations checkout link. With the item or collect payments options you will have to put a specific amount.
