How does one put already-created items onto their Square/Weebly Online Store?

I want to put them on my Square/Weebly Online Store.

How do I do this?

Cannot find it anywhere.

Hi @this-is-hard1 - hopefully we can make this a little less hard for you!

It sounds like you've already created your items in your Square Dashboard's Item Library. You should be able to import your items into your online store from the Item Library you've built using your Square Dashboard.

To get started, go ahead and follow the steps outlined in the Get Started section of this article from our Support Center. You can learn a bit more about how this sync works by taking a peek at this page where we outline the details.

Be sure to let us know here if any other questions come up as you work through these steps.

For me, the Online Store has more details for each item than the Square Item Library, so that is where I enter all my items. I do not have Retail Stations, nor do I need one; strictly Online Store.

My issue is this: I want to upload my Item Library, but cannot find where I can do that in the Online Store.

That doesn't help me! I already know how to do it in the Square Dashboard. My issue is I have to enter data TWICE. The limited data in the Square Dashboard is entered, and then I have to go to my online store and enter additional data and more images. Why twice? I need to have an Upload Library in my Online Store Item Library so I can enter an Excel Spreadsheet straight into the Online Store. I don't use my Item Library in the Square Dashboard at all!

@Jerseyfreebird I hear your frustration in this and I wish there was more I could offer. Unfortunately, managing your inventory in the online store vs the dashboard for the first time takes a lot of tedious work. We are continually taking feedback from you guys over how we can make this process better, so I will keep surfacing all of this to our team for improvements in the future.

Thanks, Ashley. I am versed in entering items into Square. I've been doing web site work for a while now (over 30 years lol).

I actually have two (2) suggestions for the team.

First, my issue with the Item Library upload in the Online Store. Since the majority of the fields are automatically updated in Square Item Library when you enter items into the Online Store Item Library, including the Main Image, it seams to me that it should be simple enough to make the Upload Item Library Spreadsheet directly into the Online Store Item Library instead of through the Square portal. Entering data and images TWICE is just so outdated.

Online Store Categories. Why is there not a Category Description field for Categories in the Online Store? I want to describe the items listed in Categories. Like: "Here we have some awesome creations by..." or "All the window dressings you'll ever need!" Just some kind of field so we can describe the Category Page when a visitor is on that page.

Thanks. I only want to make it an easier process for myself and the thousands of other small business owners whom operate these Online Stores.

Placing a Category Description field just under the Category Title field should be a very easy process. It could be just a 100 character field, just something to explain the Category.

The Online Item Library Update should be exactly like it is in the Square Item Library update. On the Items Page in Square, it has the drop down menu to Upload or Download the Item Library Spreadsheet. It is very simple to implement this feature into the Online Store Item Library, as each item entered into the Online Store is automatically updated (in synced fields of course) anyway. Why this wasn't done in the first place is beyond me.

Again, thank you for allowing me to voice what I believe everyone is feeling.
