How do promotions work with WooCommerce?

I'm just setting up our Website and am using WooCommerce. We are using Square as the point of origin for the inventory as we are also selling locally. The primary question I have is how would I create a promotion to place a group of items on sale, let's say, all beaded earrings are 15% off for the Month of May. If I create the promotion in WooCommerce, how does the transaction look in Square when somebody purchases a sale item?

(I do not think I can create the promotion in Square, because I read that it will merely update the price in WooCommerce, and not indicate that it is a promotional price.

Hey @BeadedBliss and congrats on your first post!

I did some digging but I can't say I'm familiar with how WooCommerce promotions work with them being a third party with us.

This may be a better question to ask to them directly to see how this would reflect since it's going to be done from their side.

If you already did reach out to them- please feel free to let us know what they said in case another seller comes here with the same question!
