How to redeem a lost gift card

My clients lost her gift card and I knew the amount on it, and had the last 4 digits from looking up the transaction. Is there a way to redeem a lost one without just clearing the balance?

@Amysti there are a few things you can do. The first is, yes, you can just clear the balance and give her a new gift card. When loading the new gift card you can apply a 100% discount to it so your customer won't have to pay.

Another thing you can do is look up the Gift Card PAN on the Square Dashboard to give your customer the full gift card numbers, but she will have to save the numbers to her phone until the total amount is redeemed.

To export your Gift Card information:

Navigate to the Reports tab of your online Square Dashboard and select Gift Cards.
Select the Export button in the upper right hand corner and choose Gift Card Numbers CSV.
A CSV file will automatically download onto your computer. Keep in mind that this file will contain full gift card numbers and their corresponding balances so you will want to handle this information sensitively.
