I swear a wrote a reply previously but somehow it didn't post!

Store is not yet live. Will be selling small things like keychains, small book, stickers etc. The link you provided shows how to set up a shipping profile. I made a shipping profile, but I think I want an all items to belong to two separate profiles i.e. profile one flat rate $5 and profile 2 flat rate $10 for express/tracking. And then at the checkout screen the customer can select whichever shipping profile option they want.

But when you add an item to a new shipping profile, it is removed from the previous shipping profile. Or is there a different way to set this up?

Hi,

Is it possible to setup shipping options so that customers can choose to have standard/express shipping? Normally when you buy things online at checkout you can pay extra for express shipping.

Hi @mintandmold 👋 Welcome to the Seller Community 🎉

Yes, this is possible to do! You can setup your shipping rules for your store in a variety of ways. i.e. flat rate, by weight, by number of items, etc

Whichever way you choose to go, you will be able to create two sets of rules so that the customer has the option to choose if they want the more expensive option.

Is your site already live? If so, can you post a link so we can get an idea of the type of items you are selling?

Thanks for the extra info, @mintandmold1 This is helpful!

You are correct that items can only belong to one custom profile, however, you can setup what you want to do by adding two rates to the shipping profile.

You will use "flat rate" for both options, then indicate the amount. You can also customize the name of each. Here's my example for my checkout screen:

And this is what it looks like on the backend for the shipping overview page:

and the Edit Shipping Profile page:

You can also add an option for Free Shipping with a condition i.e. minimum price, and then the free option would only show if the cart meets the requirement. Offering a free option is popular with sellers since it can help boost sales.

Please let me know if you have further questions about this! 😊

Hi @BernadetteA,

Once again, thank you for your response!

I appreciate the detailed explanation and guidance, it's exactly what I was after! When I contacted Square customer service I was advised that what I was trying to do was not possible using Square. I did rephrase my question multiple times and provided a few real life examples but was told repeatedly that what I was asking for could not be done.

I am one step closer to publishing my store thanks to you. You've been a great help!

Hi @BernadetteA

I'm back with another question! Is it only possible to add additional rate types to the default shipping profile? When I was trying to add additional rates to a custom shipping profile, the option to "+ Add another rate" wasn't there.

The issue: I have one large item in the store which has a different shipping price to everything else. I setup a custom shipping profile for this large item so that it would have a flat rate and then all other items would have a separate flat rate. But now I also want to add another rate for the large item which includes tracking!

Any ideas please let me know!
