How are sales from plastic gift cards recorded?

I have recently sold my business. I have $1507 in outstanding gift cards (many were comped and given out as donations to local schools but not all of them). Is there a way I can transfer the cards with open businesses to the new square account of the new owners?

When I purchased the business I was left to deal with many customers who had gift cards from the previous owners and I was eating the comps and costs of these cards having never received payment. Is there a work around for this or are gift card holders up the creek?

Yes, there is a way to migrate those gift cards over to the other Square Seller taking over your business. You will want to contact our CS Team directly for them to do this.

They will need some information from you and the seller that is taking over your business.
