How can I change or edit the domain for my Square Online Store?

hi! i’m going through changing my business name and i need to change my domain. i use a square owned domain right now and would still like to use one until my buisness grows a bit more. so i’m just wondering how i can change my domain. thanks!

Hi @twistedbdesignc - if you're looking to create a custom domain, or use a domain you already own, you'll start by heading to the Online Store editor within your Square Dashboard.

Once here, select Website then General Settings - here you'll click the Customize button. When the pop-up appears, select Find a custom domain to look for available domain names. If you already have a domain you'd like to use, select Use a domain I own.

If I already purchased original site address and it expires June 2024, do I have to purchase new site address although it's the same site just with a new name? It is asking me for payment. Why is that? And if I purchase, will I receive a refund for old site address?

Hello there @SerenitySkin

If you have already purchased a Domain registration until June 2024 you would not need to purchase another one. However, keep in mind that in order to use a Domain you will need to also purchase a Square Online subscription to be able to use a domain on your Square Online site.
