taxes being charged on non taxable items.

I am struggling with sales tax on the web site. I sell packaged food products that are not taxable in my state. Some local orders come through with added tax and other no tax added. I CAN NOT figure out how to make the correction. I have the local instate tax rate set to ZERO. There is no rhyme or reason why someone from the same state will order the same item and one will be charged tax and another not charged tax. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

We'd be happy to take a look into this with you. This sounds frustrating. Can you please provide us with the name of one specific item you are seeing this issue with? Also, are you editing the sales tax in your Square Online Editor or in the Square Online Dashboard?

Most recently the 10oz Salt blend was purchased and tax was added, but the 16 size.
