      <title>How do you refund shipping cost for an order placed online?</title>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;I had a friend take home an item and didn't charge her for it. Later that day&amp;nbsp; I sent her a checkout link but it charged her the shipping cost.&amp;nbsp; How do I refund the shipping cost but not the item. (It's not offering it as an item to be refunded)&amp;nbsp; Which brings the question to how can refund a partial shipping cost. Ex.&amp;nbsp; overcharged for shipping&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Sure thing - you&amp;nbsp;can refund the full order, specific items, or a specific dollar amount of that order!&lt;BR /&gt;

You can follow the directions outlined&amp;nbsp;&lt;A href="https://squareup.com/help/us/en/article/6950-manage-orders#a49bee39f485b6044ab5a6c1c556bd85" target="_blank"&gt;here&lt;/A&gt;, underneath the&amp;nbsp;&lt;EM&gt;To refund an order without canceling&amp;nbsp;&lt;/EM&gt;section. Let us know if,&amp;nbsp;for some reason, you are not seeing the option to refund a partial amount of the payment, &lt;a href="https://community.squareup.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/308390"&gt;@LaurenKay&lt;/a&gt;.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;In previous versions, we were able to refund the shipping costs.&amp;nbsp; Currently, it seems like the only way to do this is via partial refund.&amp;nbsp; However, this doesn't indicate the category (shipping) that was refunded.&amp;nbsp; We need this categorization for accounting and tax purposes.&amp;nbsp; &lt;BR /&gt;Is there a way to select just the shipping charge and refund it like we used to be able to?&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;Thanks for this but it doesn't address the issue.&amp;nbsp; When I select the refund option, I can only refund the items and/or dollar amount.&amp;nbsp; I cannot select the shipping that was charged since it's not listed in the "items" or other section.&amp;nbsp; My only option is to just partially refund it but that doesn't categorize it appropriately.&amp;nbsp; We used to be able to do this.&amp;nbsp; The function is gone.&lt;/P&gt;

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Update: you can do this from the Webpage &amp;gt; Transaction but still cannot in the POS.&amp;nbsp; We used to be able to do this until the update last February.&amp;nbsp; Please bring this function back so our cashiers can refund shipping and our admins don't have to login to do it.&amp;nbsp; Thanks.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
