KDS and straight fire items

I'm trying to replace my kitchen printer with a Square KDS screen. Currently, my items that are set to "straight fire" send to the printer as they are added to the check. If I try to use the KDS display, the items don't appear on the KDS until I actually "send" the items even though they are still set to "straight fire". I then have to re-enter the check to add more items to it.

Is there a way to get items that are set to "straight fire" to show up on the Square KDS display without "sending" the item?

If this isn't currently an option, is this a feature that is being worked on for future updates?

Hello and welcome to the Seller Community!! We don’t currently support straight fire and coursing for Fresh KDS - it’s only available for printers. For items to appear on the Fresh KDS display you would need to click "send" on the order. 🙂
