How to put device code on square register and update the interface

I created a device code because I got upgraded to the retail plus plan now I am trying to link it to my square register but I have no idea how. It doesn't let me sign out completely where I have to put my email in and that seems to be the solution everywhere I go. I also am hoping for it to have the updated interface too since I have the retail plus plan but I am not sure how to do that on the register, right now it is still the basic square interface. Let me know! Thank you!

You should be able to see an option to enter a device code on the sign in page. Can you explain what you mean when you say the Register doesn't let you sign out completely?

I resolved it. Just had to factory reset. Thanks!
