One account - but can I have two separate entities?

Hi everyone; I'm helping a friend fine-tune her square account!! She owns a salon and has the salon business she does through her square account. The salon also now has a boutique in it that she wants to keep separate as far as record keeping and taking the money in/keeping track, etc. Is there a way to do this with one Square account? I'm picturing she will sign into Square and pick from a menu of which business she enters sales for?? I'm just not sure how to even word it but I hope someone will know what I mean! Thank you for any help!!

Hello @ronnip !

This is something that can be done quite easily with Square!

To set up multiple locations, in your friends Square Web Dashboard, go to Account & Settings -> Business -> Locations. Set up as many locations with specific inventories as you need here.

More information is available in this help article.

One caveat though: each device can only be logged into one location at a time. So if your friend is wanting to run both locations simultaneously she'll need to invest in a second tablet/phone/square hardware, etc. With your vision, this doesn't sound like it'll be a problem, but it's good to know about it.

Thank you! I will pass on the info! Seems easy enough!! I wonder if she can just have two browsers open on her laptop though. I'll have to look at that but I doubt she can be signed in twice. I'll come back here if we need more help!! Thanks again 🙂 !!!
