Inventory Management and Square POS Ecommerce Integration

I have a couple questions about square before I make my final decision on what POS I'm going to use.

First off I started my business with WIX because I had no intention of opening a retail location. That has changed and now I'm looking for a POS solution. WIX does not integrate with Square in terms of inventory integration but can utilize the POS to process online sales. I have put a lot of time into my WIX site and do not particularly want to abandon it and start over with a Square website.

So when I make a sale from my WIX website, Square won't update the sale via the inventory so I will have to manually remove the item from the Square inventory I'm assuming? What will Square register the sale as if I'm using their POS to sell online?

I was just speaking with a seller, @Horsenround who uses Wix. Perhaps they can weigh in on this and provide some background as to how inventory works for them between Square and a Wix site.

This is another good resource for looking about how Square integrates with Wix. It goes over the reporting, and does state that Wix doesn’t currently integrate with Square Items or Inventory.

Hey, @samlesher ! I started with Square and then moved my site to Wix. In non-pandemic times, I run both the website and do events, as well as have a few people who come to shop directly at my farm. I also do custom orders and use the invoice system on Square for that. I don't think inventory can be integrated, but you can easily add Square to your shopping cart on Wix. I have several payment options set up on mine. The order notification still comes through Wix, and you get your money with the same turnaround options.

Also, I've found Square to be the most reliable when I'm at events (compared to some of my peers who use other payment systems).
