If the parent item isn't tax exempt there isn't a way to have a modifier that can have taxes blocked automatically. I think your best bet would be to make the modifier a standalone item if possible.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Now if your tax exempt sale doesn't happen that often, you can manually remove the tax from the item. When you're on the item's configuration screen on the Point of Sale (the screen where you choose the modifiers), you can always scroll down and remove the tax.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Hope this helps!&lt;/P&gt;</description>
