thread International POS in Archived Discussions (Read Only)

I have a US Square, but I'll be traveling to Canada in May for a trade show. I know I can't use my US Square there and it says in the help section:

"You can create multiple Square accounts, each with its own country selection, but a different email address and different identity verification information is required for each account."

Can I link those accounts to my US bank, or do I need to have a bank in Canada? And what does "different identity verification information" mean? My passport vs. my driver's license?

Welcome to the Community, @SCole222 -

You would have to have a Canadian bank account for the Canadian account. You won't be able to link any US information.

As for the identity verification information for the Canadian account, you would have the option to enter an SIN (Social Insurance Number). Canada doesn't have the option for using SSN. The key here would to make sure you're meeting all of the requirements for both accounts to make sure your identity is verified & you can take payments.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.
