How to update your inventory from Opencart

I have a question. I sells both online and in person. I want to know if anyone knows how to automatically update inventory with orders coming in from our website via OpenCart. If people order online I want that item to be removed from inventory. As well if person is picking up in person their order would also be removed from inventory.

Any ideas?
