Can I print open order using square terminal

Basically I want the square terminal (not an external printer), to print open tickets which can then be given to the kitchen. Basically I want a receipt before the customer actually pays. Is this possible?

The Square Terminal can print order tickets as well. To get started, go to Settings > Hardware > Printer > Ensure "In Person order tickets" is turned on. Like this, an order ticket will automatically print when you create an open ticket.

If you'd like to print a order stub for an existing open ticket:

1. On your Square Terminal, select tickets and choose the open ticket you'd like to print.

2. Tap on the ticket name- this is displayed above Save and Charge button on the Checkout screen.

3. Tap on the arrow in the top right hand corner and select "Reprint Ticket".
