Tips Functions

I have 2 concepts at the same location. Our snack bar uses free square and our full service restaurant uses square for restaurants. They have the tip option turned on. Can I merge these accounts into one but as separate locations and turn the tipping option off for the snack bar?

Not sure if you can "merge" the two accounts. You can set up a second location even though they both have the same physical location. You can control collecting tips at the ipad/register level. The only problem would be if you are using 1 tablet to collect for both locations currently. The only work around is to use the restaurants app for the restaurant and also install the point of sale app and swap between the two. However, there is a little lag when doing this so 10-15 seconds between swaps. It would be much easier to manage 2 concepts on 1 square account rather than 2 square accounts.

Thank you. I am not seeing where to turn tips on or off on my ipad in the restaurant app? We are using different ipads the locations are far from eachother, Thank you!

The option to enable tips is found in Dashboard within device settings. Once you click the device/POS to edit, you'll see a Collect Tips toggle beneath the Tipping Section.
