Square loyalty discounts with gift cards

Is it possible to exclude square loyalty discounts from applying to gift cards?

We use square loyalty with only 1 reward option that is a 20% off entire sale discount. It is a recurring issue that customers redeeming their loyalty rewards have the discount apply to any gift card that they purchased in that transaction. Is there a way to exclude gift cards from having the loyalty discount applied to them?

Hi there @lars2. There is not a way, currently, to do this -- at least not when using reward type "discount entire sale." I can see how this might be useful for some sellers. In my case, I actually market this as a feature and want to encourage my Loyalty customers to use their rewards to discount gift card purchases. But, since I use fixed dollar amounts, rather than percentage-based rewards, my situation might be different.

Anyway, you can submit a feature request here for the product team to consider.
