Hi

For several years have used my Samsung Galaxy Tab E to use the jack version of the card reader. Suddenly it quit working and tried uninstalling the app, and reinstalling but when I did that ..the app disappeared. I checked the list of compatibility ( now its not compatible) and my LG K20 Plus phone was listed as compatible, but that also will not install the software. I had to use another device ( attempted to use tap to pay but NO go, nothing worked) and manually input cards, which of course I get charged more for. What can I do to continue using square as a processor when none of my devices work, or do I have to spend more $ to be able to even use it. Even if I buy the blue tooth reader am assuming if cannot install the software, it still will not load the app? Am pretty frustrated

Do I have to find another processor?

Hi @dunover.. Of course, you can find another processor. But, eventually, you will run into the same thing with them. This is because as software is improved and new features added, eventually some older operating systems and/or devices can not longer be supported because they don't have what is needed for the software to run. This is especially true in the Android ecosystem where different device makers stop allowing OS upgrades and Square keeps adding features that require those OS upgrades.

This is not unique to Square. All other software developers run into this all the time, too. Yes, you might find another POS company that currently supports all of your devices. But, trust me, in a year or two, that will change. In my 10+ years with Square, I've had to change iPads and Android tablets I use for my shop's KDS.
