Can Someone Borrow my Reader?

Hello, someone would like to borrow my card reader, I am not using this weekend- so that's fine.

Is it attached to my account or just my device? Do I need to un-attach it first?

Hi there @JS-SC.. I'm assuming you are referring to the Square Contactless reader. If so, then you can allow someone else to borrow it. But, you'll need to factory reset it first so that they can pair it with their device. Also, you'll need to do the same when they return it to you. The factory reset returns is to its "new device" state.

Absolutely! We do this all the time with the contactless reader. We keep 2 of them as backup, and there is always a vendor at markets that seems to forget their reader lol
