Hi, just testing out my new Square Reader. It accepts credit cards and allows taps from a debit card, but can it accept non-tap debit cards in the slot? Mine doesn’t.....

This reply created from merging an existing thread: "Why does square not accept debit cards whose tap feature has been disabled?" The author has been notified via email.

The issue seems to be only when the debit cardholder has the tap feature on their card disabled. They cannot use tap and the square reader does not allow us to insert the chip or swipe. Is there a foreseeable solution to this forthcoming?
