Can I place a hold on a credit card?

Is there a way or any future plans, to give the Admin ability to place "holds" on Credit Cards.

For example, we are a contracting company and have to deal with large sums. Sometimes customers will go ahead and spend the amount on there card before the payment is collected, and we are left unable to claim the amount owing.

I know other competitors have an option to place a Hold on Funds in the particular person's Credit Card. But I have yet to see such in Square.

Hi @TPD. You're right, you aren't able to place a hold on a credit card with Square at this time. I'm sorry! This is request we've heard before and I agree it would help a lot of business like yours who need to secure money owed.

We can't share timelines in the Community but we'll certainly let you know if this feature becomes availablein the future.
