Is there a way to customize invoicing so that they number automatically? I.e. 2020-01, 2020-02, etc.

Definitely! You can enter a custom Invoice ID whenever you set up your invoice. It has a text field you are able to type in whatever you need. Here is a link to setting up invoices.

I don't see where I can add an invoice number under Settings - Invoices. I can add an invoice number each time I create a new invoice but I'd just like them to self-number automatically, each time I click "Create Invoice". Currently when I click "Create Invoice", the invoice number is 201862, which I assume would be the 62nd invoice I've created since I signed on in 2018.

Ah I see! Right now, we don't offer the automated invoice numbering like you're looking for. The only option would be to set it manually whenever the invoice is created. This can be tagged as a feature request for our Product Team to take a look at.
