The title of this thread has been edited from the original: Tap Limit Increase

Will the tap limit increase due to the Covid-19 pandemic?

Other devices have raised it to $250. This would assist in keeping the non contact in place.

Thank you for reaching out about increasing the tap amounts. Given the current economic climate, Square has decided to increase the contactless payments to $250 CAD over the next few weeks. This update will be included as a firmware update across our hardware. There’s nothing you need to do to enable the new limits.

All of the updates should be complete by April 27th. I appreciate your patience while we work through getting this launched!
