Add 50% bonus to Gift Card Sale

Hello Square Community Members,

I have 75 gift cards ready to sell to my customers and I have a current promotion to help get the sales started.

50% bonus to your gift card purchase.

For example:

The customer wants a $10 gift card - they pay $10 but they get $15, $5 bonus.

The customer wants a $50 gift card - they pay $50 but they get $75, $25 bonus.

How do I set up a discount or promotion to the gift card?

I have thought of adding $5.00 to the card, then zero out the transaction, but the sale won't go through.

Is there a way to manually set the gift card to, say $75 dollars, and then check out for $50?

Thanks for your help as we enter the holiday shopping season.

Thanks for providing examples! Helps me understand how your biz runs.

There's not an automatic way to set this up. For your case, you'll need to create variable discount (dollar amount) then enter the amount discounted at the time of sale.
