I want my customers to be able to add text information in their online purchase order so that I can capture that information when they make their purchase.

Hey there @ccadmin and Welcome to the Seller Community!

In order to allow your customers to add text information to a specific item, you would need to create a Text Modifier and make sure and decide whether, or not this modifier is required in order to add the item to the card.
