Can a Customer purchase a Gift Card with Cash?

Hi Square Community!

I have a question that I couldn't find an answer to in the available resources. This is related to the Square Gift cards and my questions go as follows:

Can a customer purchase a Gift Card with cash?

If yes, how can I execute the transaction on the Square app?

If not, how can we ask Square to provide this payment option?

Hi @Fuad-VreNord

They sure can! If it's eGift Cards you're talking about, make sure you turn them on in your Square Dashboard.

To Sell them go into your POS app -> Library -> Gift Cards -> Sell eGift card -> select the design -> add customers email -> then it will add the eGift card to the checkout -> Review Sale -> Select "Cash" as payment type and you're good to go.

This can also be done with physical Gift Cards.
