Service Charge won't apply to payment link (monthly recurring)

I am making payment links for monthly subscriptions for my customers. When I make the payment link with a monthly subscription, it does not charge the tax even though I have tax set to charge on all items. After talking to Square support over the phone, I am told that "sales taxes are not supported in Canada for Payment Links".

So my work around is to use service charges, and make 13% of the total amount charged as "HST Tax". This works if I make a payment link for a plan/subscription with a one-off payment. But it does not apply for a new payment link that I make with a recurring monthly payment.

Does support have any answer for this? I believe it is a bug.
