Coupon code not working for checkout link item

I created a private event checkout link and then created a discount coupon to send to my host. I went in to order an event ticket and put in coupon code where it asked to test process as I am new to Square using this feature. I get an error code back regardless of whether I type in the discount code name or put in the link. What am I doing wrong? I don't want to send my host this link until I know it will work.

Hi SweetflourLLC,

Perhaps contacting Tech Support would be your next option. The Community is not the same as Tech Support or Customer Service although there's quite a bit of hands on knowledge here. Problem is no one here can look at account settings to see how you have things configured.

Did you create this coupon code via your Square Online dashboard, @SweetflourLLC or the Point of Sale dashboard? It would be helpful if you could also attach a screenshot. If you're unsure, this should be in your Square Online Dashboard under Settings > Coupons or Shared Settings > Coupons.

I made it in my Square Sweetflour LLC online dashboard. Maybe it should have been under point of sale since the class is a hidden class on my Sweetflour LLC online dashboard.

Can you try creating the discount in your other dashboard and let us know how you go @SweetflourLLC ?
