Hello

does anyone know how to customise the length of the sticky label being printed, it is far too long and covers the whole cup, I have already used the compact ticked button but its still too long.

I am operating a Bubble Tea shop.

I have a Square Register usb connection to the Star TSP654IISK and 80mm liner less roll.

This is the 'standard' compact ticket - looking at where your fingers are pointing that's a really really small ticket!

It's almost like you need a product label rather than an order ticket? (generally order tickets would go into a tab rack etc. - the linerless stuff is pretty new). Right now that's the smallest ticket you're going to be able to produce. I would say too that with any ticket/receipt printer you'll always get that blank space at the top due to where the print head is compared to the cutter.

I know it might feel like repeating yourself but it really helps to also post in the Feature Requests section - the product teams at Square do keep an eye on these boards and will be working on a load of stuff at the same time.

It's also worth signing up into the beta area as this is often where you'll hear about new things being tested (I've not seen anything on ticket sizes though)

I'd be interested to hear what you think of the printer though, as before that came out I got a brother AirPrint label printer for my pizza van as wanted to be able to identify the boxes for collection. I've had to go the other way and use huge 10x15cm labels to get the formatting right as the Square system doesn't seem to like fixed sizes for order tickets either.

Not sure is this is any help - or just means you can rule out alternative options....

These are my settings on within Square app and then also tested all the different stickers I've got on hand and also some standard 80mm receipt roll. This is how everything prints (Brother TD-40 Label Printer)

Thanks for the reply @Sam_400º,

I managed to sort it out in the end, finding the ip address of the printer then using the star desktop program on my laptop. There I could change the ticket size.

What I found out is you can use any Thermal printer to print sticky labels as long as the register can see it , its just a case of changing the roll.

In this case spending £400.00 on this printer was not worth it, as I have so many spare thermal printers lying around doing nothing.

I think I am going to look into either a Brother or Dymo label printer as I can print other tickets that I need around the shop like food container labels.

The Brother QL700 looks perfect for me as it prints vertically

I don’t think a ‘regular’ thermal can print of the linerless stickers though can they?

could you share what your tickets look like now and the setting you’ve used? As this would really help for me too 👍

By linerless do you mean you don't need the label to be sticky? Would a normal paper order ticket stub work for your business?

Hey @bobalover123 I think that @Swirls2 is in the best position to answer this from a 'real life' use situation.

I'd have expected the printers to have needed some adaptation to work without clogging up but I've never used lintless labels so I'm really naive in this!

Sorry about the delay getting back to you, yes you can use a liner less paper roll in a thermal printer. There is some programming to do, I will see if I still have the video. There is not a big difference between both printers. The only thing is it would have to be a Star or Epsom thermal printer as the system will not recognise any other.

Answer is you DO Need a thermal printer of some sort either a Star or Epsom.
