can i add a square card reader to a square register

hi we have a problem, a customer has spilled drink on the register and liquid has gone inside the card reader on the front of the screen, it now says permantly insret card,

my question is can i buy a small white card reader and connect to the register till as a short term fix?

Hi @AdamRidgway I don't believe this is possible. I'll take a look at our register in the morning to see if i can see a means. The little Square card readers work with tablets, and mobile phones. Although with the new NFC contact less payments on your mobile you wouldn't need a Square reader.

Hi thanks , do you know if you can just buy the card reader part of the register till? The rest works fine just damage to the screen on the front and trader etc . Cheers

Hey @AdamRidgway - you can but unfortunately it’s quite a costly part to replace. See here
