Redirecting a different subdomain to my site, i.e. not just www ?

Hi,

In the past on my old website/host I had

mydomain.com

www.mydomain.com

shop.mydomain.com

I've followed the instructions for square and created 'A' records for the above but the shop one still does not work correctly, it shows an unsecure site warning and stops me accessing the page.

The www and without anything before the domain both seem to work.

I may have fixed my own question. I have created a CNAME record for 'shop' which points to mydomain.com

I have then deleted the A record for shop.mydomain.com

Hopefully that will fix it?

Hi @tranguyen I'm still struggling with this. The CNAME does not seem to be working for our domain when preceded with shop.

www. works fine and without any preceding works fine. If you don't mind I will send this as a personal message.

Hi @Dirky, thanks for your patience while our team look into this! As it's a subdomain, the team have advised you actually only need one A-record and no CNAME. In this case. can you try to remove both of these and see if that would help?

Hi @tranguyen so if I am understanding correctly, I do not need anything at the Hover domain control only the

A @ entry? I can remove the www and shop ?

If this is correct then anything preceding the mydomain.com will go to the square site?

Hey @Dirky, that's correct! You can remove the CNAME and the www record for the subdomain shop.website.com. Once that's done, the subdomain should direct to your Square site.
