    <description>&lt;P&gt;Hi, help please!&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Our square register keeps crashing. We did a full reset to factory setting (as advised by customer service) this morning which seems to have made it even worse. The register keeps crashing and getting stuck in an update loop. Either the card reader says 'update needed' or the main screen goes black with a loading bar that does not progress. Sometimes the screen comes back to normal only to go back to the black screen and update loading bar. At some point it appeared to have finished all updates but then the screen froze not long after and did not allow any further entries. I had to unplug everything to reboot, only for the device to go back into an update loop. Help!&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Yikes, this doesn't sound too good. I would go back to customer services on this one to see if they have any more thoughts.&lt;/P&gt;</description>

&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;There is a list of basic checks you can do for many issues you may encounter with Square Register. Please make sure to walk through the following before going through issue-specific troubleshooting steps:&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;OL&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Make sure your device is connected to power. Square Register needs to be powered to function.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Make sure your device has the latest software. To update your Square Register software, tap the down arrow at the top of your Register and select&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;Settings&lt;/STRONG&gt;. Scroll to the device section, tap&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;General&lt;/STRONG&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;About Register&lt;/STRONG&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;Software Update&lt;/STRONG&gt;.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Make sure your device’s date and time are accurate. If they are wrong, please update them via the Settings section.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Make sure your account is activated. Only US accounts can use Square Register at this time.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;/OL&gt;
&lt;P&gt;If you’ve tried all of the above steps and are still having trouble, you can reset your Square Register. Resetting your Register will require you to sign back in, be sure you have your account password close by. To reset from your Square Register:&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;
&lt;OL&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;In the upper left hand corner, tap&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;Configure Device&lt;/STRONG&gt;.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Tap&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;General&lt;/STRONG&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;About Register&lt;/STRONG&gt;.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Scroll to the bottom of the page and tap&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;Factory Reset&lt;/STRONG&gt;&amp;nbsp;&amp;gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;Confirm Factory Reset&lt;/STRONG&gt;.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;LI&gt;Tap&amp;nbsp;&lt;STRONG&gt;Reset&lt;/STRONG&gt;&amp;nbsp;one last time and the countdown will begin and your Register will reset.&lt;/LI&gt;
&lt;/OL&gt;
&lt;P&gt;Once the reset is complete, you’ll need to reconnect to your internet connection and sign back in.&lt;/P&gt;
