I need to send my customers gift cards to cover a previous loyalty scheme I had. I obviously don't want to pay for this as they will be a 'gift' how can I 'purchase' a gift card without actually paying for it? I have already searched the community questions and it says to do it as a 'new sale' I cannot find where to start with a 'new sale' whatever I process it asks for a card payment. I'm using the free version of the website.

It will be me that 'pays' . My customers have collected points when they purchased from me through a reward scheme on my previous website, I closed and moved to square before they could redeem all their points, the points gave discount off my website {handmade clothing} so I want to send them a gift card/voucher for those points which they have collected.

You could purchase and send them an eGift Card for the value of they’re points.

Hey @CK1974 - to create a 'free' gift card just set up a 100% discount (in the Square app). Then when you put the gift card through (entering their email address etc) you can discount the sale to zero.

You can process lots in a single transaction if you've got a few to send out.

Make sure you complete the sale and 'record £0 received' so your e gift cards get sent out properly.

I use this method for e gift cards and also the plastic ones when donate them as prizes .
