Website is disconnected and will not reconnect

Hi,

I have a new website designed with Wix (www.mypilatesfix.co.uk) I wanted to point my old Weebly website (www.upmnistersportsmassage.co.uk) to the new one.

I did some things to try to make it go to the new address.

The website now says it is disconnected (Weebly end) but if I click on reconnect to a domain I own, nothing happens it remains disconnected.

When you click on the www.upminstersportsmassage.co.uk link it opens a page that will not connect and says it's unsafe to enter and that is as far as it lets me go.

Any suggsetions? The original website has been up for years and most of my clients know this address and not the new one.

Hi @Neil5, thanks for posting and welcome to the Community 👋.

When manually connecting a domain to your Square Online website, DNS changes can take 24-48 hours to propagate, so it may take time for your site to start working. How long ago did you try reconnecting your domain after you noticed if was deconnected from your Weebly website ?

If you are able to see the domain on the Domains tab, can you click on Manage > Manage Domain > Edit Site Destination > Connect to one of my current site.

Could you also confirm who's the provider for your domain www.upminstersportsmassage.co.uk ? According to who.is's website, there is no information attached to the domain and no DNS records.

The domain is hosted by TSO host.

Yes, I have done this several times over the last month. and nothing is working

Since I'm unable to pull the DNS record from who.is, could you take a screenshot of the record from your host website ?

Thanks for getting back to me @Neil5. I had been typing the domain in who.is with a typo...

If you want to connect your domain to your Weebly website, you'll have to update your A records and point them to Weebly. Firstly, you only need two A records (one for www.upminstersportsmassage.co.uk and one for upminstersportsmassage.co.uk), so you can delete the ones that are not relevant. Finally, you'll have to update the addresses of both A records to 199.34.228.66 .

Once the change has populated, you'll be able to redirect the domain to www.mypilatesfix.co.uk.

I managed to sort it myself by changing the nameservers to Wix and then putting 301 redirects on each Weebly page.
