Bit of context:

We are a Cafe based in a University that is open to the public.

Our Policy for university staff is that they can have 2x free drinks from the cafe per day. We had just been using inhouse printed tick cards to track this instead of putting it through the till, however, staff often forget to bring them or loose them.

We were hoping that we could use e-gift cards for each member of staff, so that they can use a digital wallet and we won't need lots of bits of paper. The idea was that we could re-loaded the cards on a quarterly basis, so that we can track the free drinks better, however we've just found that the gifts cards are not compatible with google pay, which is a problem for a big portion of our staff.

Why can't gift cards be added to google pay?

Are we missing a trick here? Is there a better solution?

Hello there, @HannahPang

The Gift Cards team is investigating to implement this soon. However, at this time, e-gift cards can be added to Apple Wallet, and be sent via email. I know this isn't the solution or answer your were looking for but, hope that these alternatives help your staff be able to store their gift cards on their devices

Google Wallet integration for eGifts it essential for a modern solution. It would be great if you can provide an ETA or roadmap please.
