We are looking at switching from Shopify pos to square, most likely the retail version.
we need to offer a table booking service for online and people ringing up.
we have several tables that seat up to 6 and several that seat 2.
is it possible to offer these online via the Square Appointements?

but have it correctly assign people to tables based on how many people are in their party?
we want 2 hour slots and obviously if tables are all taken, then no more can be booked?

no payments would be involved so I am unsure what advantage we would get using the square version over another independent system?

Square Appointment may not be the best option in this case. You can definitely set table booking up as different services and named them accordingly (table for 2, table for 2, etc.), schedule appointments according to service duration (setting the duration as 2 hours) and set a daily appointment limit. However, there isn't a way to assign people to a table; rather the customers will be free to choose whatever they want or fit their purposes.

If you are looking for a more purpose-built reservation system, we do have an integration with ResDiary Lite that may work better.
