Set item costs in Square Restaurant?

Hi,

I was hoping to use Square for Restaurant POS and KDS for our bar.

However, I cannot see a way to set cost prices for items? Am I missing something?

IF there is now way of setting a cost price (i.e. the price we buy an item for) then how can

we work out difference between that and sell price and hence our profits?

Surely I am missing something?

Hey @Dirky, great to see you again!

At this time, it isn't possible to record unit/cost price using the Square for Restaurant app. This is a feature that's only available with the Square for Retail app.

While Square doesn't record the cost price, we do record the sale price so you should still be able to download our reports and calculate the profits outside of Square in this case.
