Does square take a % from sales?

After setting up my website and adding items, I wanted to check everything was working efficiently. So i purchased something acting as somebody else. The item was on sale for £1.80, Square sent me £1.77 of that.

Is this the case with square? I know its not a lot of money, but I wasn't aware that a deduction was made prior to the money being sent over to me.

Hey @Manorlogos, thanks for your post!

When you process payments through Square, we deduct the transaction fees at the time of payment instead of a monthly deductions. The fees deducted are included in your Transfer and Sales Report as well so you can keep track of how much fees you are paying.

You can find more information on Square's transaction fees here. The fees deducted are included in your Transfer and Sales Report so you can check this from your Square Dashboard.

Additionally, if you click into individual transaction within the Transactions tab on your Dashboard or within your Point of Sale app, you'll also be able to see the fees breakdown.
