I'm looking to use payment links (created via the API) as one method for customers to make a payment.

Do the payment links expire over time?

Hi @paul-PM, welcome to the Seller Community! You can use the Square Online Checkout link. The link will be active as long as you don't deactivate or delete them. There is no expiry date. If you're using a custom-built payment link, I suggest checking with your developers or our API team through your Developer Dashboard.
