hi guys, I just need to know how to connect my square terminal to my square restaurant app. I looked at setting- hardware and it doesn't appear. I just need to use it for payment system facing customer when they come to counter.

Hey @lesfilles - unfortunately it's not possible to use the connected terminal with the restaurant POS right now.

Fingers crossed it's coming soon though!

Hi @lesfilles and @Sam_400º, you can connect your Square Terminal to your Square Point of Sale. Please follow the steps below:

1. From the Square POS app on your iOS or Android device, tap Menu > Settings > Hardware > Square Terminal.

2. Select Connect Square Terminal.

3. Enter a nickname and location to associate with your Terminal, then tap Continue.

4. Tap Sign in.

5. The Square POS app will generate a device code. Enter this code on your Square Terminal to complete pairing. Then, tap Sign In.

6. You’ll receive a confirmation in-app once you’ve successfully connected your Square Terminal to your device – Square Terminal will display “Powered by Square”.

7. Tap Done to start accepting payments.

Hey @Emma_ - do you just want to confirm that information with the question about using connected T2 with the restaurant app?

Hi @lesfilles, just stepping in for @Emma_ to confirm that the Square Terminal cannot be connected to the Square for Restaurants app just yet, as @Sam_400º mentioned. This feature was only released in the last few months and can only currently work with the Point of Sale app.

We'll be sure to let you know here once it does become available for Restaurants and the other Square apps.
