thread +0.25 Fee Charge? in Payments Troubleshooting

Hi,

I am wondering if someone can help. We usually send payment links out to clients as we find it is the easiest and quickest way to complete a transaction.

We have noticed today and additional fee on each transaction made today through our links. We were not sent any communication from Square to confirm fees changes.

e.g. a service costing £15 would have a fee charge (1.9%) and £0.29 deducted.
However today, it is showing (1.4% + 0.25 = 0.46 deducted)?

Has anyone else experienced this or provide some guidance? Don’t know if this is the right platform to ask but I find support from Square to be quite hard to get.

Many thanks

Molly

Hi Molly, thanks for querying this on the Community and welcome 🙂

What you are seeing is actually our new pricing structure for online card transaction fees, which came fully into effect on the 17th of November.

Apologies for any confusion caused. You would have received an email update regarding this change between September - November. Please search your inbox when you have a moment, the title is "An important update to our online processing rates".

We have a full post on this with all of the details that you can read here.

We also have a dedicated FAQ that you can read here.

Note: The fee for processing in-person payments is not changing.

Here is the breakdown of the new fees but please read the articles I linked above to ensure you have all of the relevant info and let me know if there are any questions! @PawsandMe
