Can I set up a square reader with a fixed amount, as an unsupervised donation terminal?

I am looking for a solution to have an unsupervised contactless card reader to make donations with. I know there are businesses which specialise in unsupervised terminals for donations (for example https://www.goodbox.com/) but I was wondering if we could set up a square reader to always take a 5 pound donation when tapped, for example, so we don't have to use another provider?

It is not currently possible to use the Square Terminal (or any of our devices) as a self-serve, ‘tap to donate’ solution, unfortunately. The Square reader cannot be pre-set to charge only specific amounts and requires the user to manually enter each transaction at checkout.

We actually recommend that sellers use companies such as GiveTap, Give Star or Goodbox as you've mentioned.

It's a very popular request so hopefully, it's something we will be able to offer soon!
